Muchos estudiantes en la regi\u00f3n de NNU vienen de un fondo agr\u00edcola y quieren estar involucrados en la transformaci\u00f3n r\u00e1pida y de alta tecnolog\u00eda de la agricultura y el procesamiento de alimentos. Podremos aplicar estas habilidades para ayudar a las personas de todo el mundo.<\/p>\n<p>Esta nueva concentraci\u00f3n est\u00e1 orientada al uso de GPS, sensores y actuadores rob\u00f3ticos conocidos como agricultura de precisi\u00f3n.<\/p>\n<p>La agricultura de precisi\u00f3n permite a las plantas decirles a los agricultores lo que necesitan para una producci\u00f3n \u00f3ptima, &nbsp;dijo Duke Bulanon, profesor asociado de ingenier\u00eda mec\u00e1nica. Esto nos permite ser buenos mayordomos de la creaci\u00f3n de Dios.<\/p>\n<p>Con este enfoque rob\u00f3tico en la agricultura, el programa de NNU es a diferencia de la mayor\u00eda de los programas de &nbsp;ingenier\u00eda agr\u00edcola en la naci\u00f3n, que est\u00e1n predominantemente orientados biol\u00f3gicamente, y es el \u00fanico disponible en la educaci\u00f3n superior cristiana.<\/p>\n<p>La ingenier\u00eda agr\u00edcola usa la automatizaci\u00f3n rob\u00f3tica para la producci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola intensiva en mano de obra, como plantar, recoger, podar, irrigar, rociar y procesamiento de alimentos. Esto es importante en resolver el creciente problema de la escasez de trabajadores agr\u00edcolas. Adem\u00e1s de hacer que estos procesos sean menos intensivos en trabajo, la automatizaci\u00f3n rob\u00f3tica es ambientalmente beneficiosa.<\/p>\n<p>Minimiza dram\u00e1ticamente el uso de agua y pesticidas mediante la aplicaci\u00f3n directa, as\u00ed como la contaminaci\u00f3n del aire movi\u00e9ndose hacia veh\u00edculos de granja totalmente el\u00e9ctricos, explic\u00f3 &nbsp;Parke.<\/p>\n<p>Para este t\u00edtulo, los estudiantes tomar\u00e1n cursos en ingenier\u00eda mec\u00e1nica, sistemas de informaci\u00f3n geogr\u00e1fica y automatizaci\u00f3n agr\u00edcola, as\u00ed como completar un proyecto senior adaptado a esta \u00e1rea de estudio. El trabajo del curso complementa los proyectos de investigaci\u00f3n en curso del departamento en la agricultura, dando a los estudiantes oportunidades de obtener experiencia pr\u00e1ctica innovando tecnolog\u00eda agr\u00edcola para los agricultores locales.<\/p>\n<p>Esta concentraci\u00f3n se basa en los \u00faltimos a\u00f1os de investigaci\u00f3n de ingenier\u00eda agr\u00edcola altamente exitosa de Duke Bulanon y Josh Griffin. Habiendo ganado un Ph.D. en ingenier\u00eda agr\u00edcola, Bulanon trajo un enfoque agr\u00edcola al Departamento de F\u00edsica e Ingenier\u00eda cuando se uni\u00f3 a la facultad de NNU hace siete a\u00f1os. Ahora NNU est\u00e1 haciendo el Departamento de Agricultura de los Estados Unidos, el Departamento de Agricultura de Idaho y la investigaci\u00f3n patrocinada por la NASA que involucra drones y IdaBot, un robot aut\u00f3nomo que puede realizar tareas de granja intensivas en tiempo.<\/p>\n<p>El departamento tambi\u00e9n ha hecho viajes de misi\u00f3n de ingenier\u00eda agr\u00edcola, como dise\u00f1ar y construir un invernadero inteligente en Argentina en 2015.<\/p>\n<p>Usar nuestras habilidades de ingenier\u00eda para el reino de Dios es una parte de nuestro ADN en NNU, dijo &nbsp;Parke.
