Newell Smith ha sido nombrado superintendente de distrito interino para el Distrito de Upstate de Nueva York. La Superintendente General Carla Sunberg hizo el nombramiento en consulta con el Consejo Asesor del Distrito de Upstate de Nueva York, el Director Regional de Estados Unidos \/ Canad\u00e1, Bob Broadbooks, y la Junta de Superintendentes Generales. <\/p>\n

Smith fue nombrado despu\u00e9s de la renuncia de Kevin Dunlop, que es efectiva el 31 de mayo de 2020. Smith asumir\u00e1 su nueva posici\u00f3n el 1 de junio de 2020 y servir\u00e1 hasta 30 d\u00edas despu\u00e9s de la asamblea de distrito de abril de 2021, durante la cual se elegir\u00e1 un nuevo superintendente de distrito.<\/p>\n

Smith asisti\u00f3 a Eastern Nazarene College donde gan\u00f3 una Licenciatura en Artes en Literatura Inglesa y un menor en la Educaci\u00f3n Secundaria. Continu\u00f3 ganando una Maestr\u00eda en la Divinidad del Seminario Teol\u00f3gico Asbury con un enfoque en el asesoramiento. Smith es un presidente de Front Step, un Centro del Ministerio Nazareno Compasivo en el centro de la ciudad de Filadelfia.<\/p>\n
