George Miller, 72, de Carnegie, Oklahoma, muri\u00f3 el 28 de mayo de 2023. Era un misionero jubilado que sirvi\u00f3 durante 27 a\u00f1os en Pap\u00faa Nueva Guinea, las Islas Salom\u00f3n y Filipinas. Miller era el pastor de la Iglesia Carnegie de la Nazarena en el momento de su muerte, habiendo pastoreado la iglesia desde 2020.<\/p>\n

George Manley Miller naci\u00f3 a Clyde y Violet Miller el 10 de octubre de 1950 en El Reno, Oklahoma. George creci\u00f3 en una peque\u00f1a iglesia de pa\u00eds y dio su vida al Se\u00f1or como un ni\u00f1o joven. Como ni\u00f1o, sinti\u00f3 que Dios lo llam\u00f3 a servir como misionero. Siempre am\u00f3 los servicios misioneros y sinti\u00f3 \u00abnostalgia\u00bb cuando escuch\u00f3 a los misioneros hablar. <\/p>\n

George asisti\u00f3 a Bethany Nazarene College (ahora la Universidad Nazarena del Sur), donde recibi\u00f3 un t\u00edtulo en biolog\u00eda. En BNC, conoci\u00f3 y se cas\u00f3 con Nancy Sides, que tambi\u00e9n se hab\u00eda sentido llamado a misiones como un ni\u00f1o peque\u00f1o. En los primeros a\u00f1os de su matrimonio, George se gradu\u00f3 del colegio, ten\u00edan dos hijos, y se mudaron dos veces, finalmente estableci\u00e9ndose en Carnegie, Oklahoma, donde George trabaj\u00f3 como laboratorio y t\u00e9cnico de rayos X en el hospital. <\/p>\n

Estaba involucrado activamente en la Iglesia Carnegie de la Nazarena y en la organizaci\u00f3n Gideon. Durante sus primeros a\u00f1os en Carnegie, la solicitud de George y Nancy al Departamento de Misiones Mundiales no fue aceptada. George siempre dijo, \u00ab\u00c9ramos rechazos misioneros\u00bb. <\/p>\n

Continu\u00f3 tratando de llenar su anhelo por el campo misionero sirviendo a su iglesia local e yendo en viajes misioneros a corto plazo a la Rep\u00fablica Dominicana y Swazilandia.<\/p>\n

Como consejero en un campamento de ni\u00f1os y ni\u00f1as, George fue santificado por completo. Dios le dio a George tres tareas: (lista numerada)<\/p>\n

  1. Era trabajar hacia la ordenaci\u00f3n y comenzar una iglesia de ni\u00f1os en Carnegie. <\/li>\n
  2. Era orar por su hermano wayward porque Dios lo iba a salvar. <\/li>\n
  3. Era asegurarse de que su casa y los asuntos estuvieran en orden porque Dios enviar\u00eda a su familia al campo de misiones. <\/li>\n<\/ol>\n

    Como era la costumbre de George, obedeci\u00f3 a Dios de todo el coraz\u00f3n, y Dios era fiel.<\/p>\n

    Dios llam\u00f3 a George y Nancy a Pap\u00faa Nueva Guinea en 1989. Empacaron su casa y llevaron a sus cuatro hijos a PNG, donde sirvieron durante 10 a\u00f1os. George trabaj\u00f3 en el hospital, comenz\u00f3 una escuela para capacitar a t\u00e9cnicos de laboratorio y plant\u00f3 una iglesia en la plantaci\u00f3n de caf\u00e9 local.<\/p>\n

    Mientras que en su segundo descanso de PNG, George termin\u00f3 el trabajo del curso que carec\u00eda para la ordenaci\u00f3n, y fue ordenado como anciano en la Iglesia de la Nazarena. La iglesia le pregunt\u00f3 si ir\u00eda a las Islas Salom\u00f3n para ser el superintendente de distrito. George y Nancy amaron fielmente y sirvieron a la gente de las Islas Salom\u00f3n durante 15 a\u00f1os.<\/p>\n

    Durante los \u00faltimos 18 meses de su carrera misionera, George y Nancy estaban en Filipinas, donde George sirvi\u00f3 como el capell\u00e1n en una escuela nazarena en Baguio. Amaron el tiempo que pasaron all\u00ed, y sus amigos filipinos fueron tan \u00fatiles en cuidar a Nancy cuando se enferm\u00f3.<\/p>\n

    George se jubil\u00f3 de su carrera misionera en 2015 y estaba esperando pasar tiempo con sus nietos. Pas\u00f3 la mayor parte de los pr\u00f3ximos a\u00f1os proporcionando cuidado para Nancy mientras su salud declin\u00f3 gradualmente, y muri\u00f3 en 2018.<\/p>\n

    George encontr\u00f3 el amor nuevamente y se cas\u00f3 con Jeanne Martin en 2019. Su familia combinada creci\u00f3 a ocho hijos y 32 nietos. George y Jeanne disfrutaron viajar, pasar tiempo con su familia y jugar juegos. <\/p>\n

    El jubilo no dur\u00f3 mucho tiempo mientras se les pidi\u00f3 que pastorearan la Iglesia Carnegie de la Nazarena en 2020. George amaba servir como el pastor con Jeanne a su lado.<\/p>\n

    George fue precedido en la muerte por sus padres, Clyde y Violet Miller; su hermano, Wesley Miller; su esposa, Nancy; su hija infantil; y su nieta, Natalie. <\/p>\n
