Rest and renewal are essential to every minister of the gospel to remain effective and connected to the vision God has for their ministry context. We want to see every full-time Genesis missionary have the opportunity to have time away from ministry to practice Sabbath by providing funding for a 5-day prayer retreat for each Genesis missionary. We believe that by allowing them to step away from the busy city and find a place of silence and solitude to spend with God, they will return to their ministry assignment renewed, with continued direction and creativity. A Genesis missionary assignment is typically two years. This prayer retreat is strongly suggested after serving for 12 months to provide for a time of refreshing and renewal of call.
