Manaus Kid's Mission Trip

The Church of the Nazarene in Manaus carried out a project called “My first missions trip” to instill an early passion for missions in children.

The children of Manaus spent the past few months learning about missions and praying, writing (or drawing) to, and giving offerings for missionaries.

At the end of the project, the children took a trip on the “Jesus is the Hope” boat to visit the riverside and indigenous communities along the Black River.

“This was an impactful experience for the children as they saw what it is like to be a missionary and live in an Amazon community,” said Igor Vale, the district NMI president, who also runs the “Jesus is the Hope” boat ministry. The “Jesus is the Hope” boat has been an instrument to boost Nazarene Missions in the Amazon Region.

The children visited three communities to evangelize and to invite other children to participate in a mini Vacation Bible School.

During the VBS, arrangements were also made for a meeting for women in the Nova Canaã Community, and on Sunday there was a Sunday School class for the community.

At the end of the trip, the children enjoyed a morning of rest and fun at the riverside beach on the banks of the Cuieiras River.
