The sermon should explore holiness as it relates to tithing and living generously and should address money as it relates to the funding of the mission of the Church of the Nazarene: "To make Christlike disciples in the nations."
The scripture assignment for 2012 is Malachi 3:10.
All pastoral ministry students who are enrolled in a Religion or Christian Education program at a USA or Canada Nazarene institution of higher education (including seminaries) are eligible.
Sermons are judged through a blind process by a panel appointed by the director of Stewardship Ministries.
