
Dr. Nina G. Gunter, jurisdictional general superintendent for the Mexico and Central America Region, recently spoke at the commencement exercises at Seminario Nazareno de las Américas (SENDAS) in Costa Rica. Graduates represented the various theological education programs of SENDAS, including the Diploma of Ministry, Bachelor of Theology, and Master of Religion with emphasis in the Mission of the Church. The group included 34 students from several nationalities who are ministering in different countries in Latin America, graduating from the decentralized theological education programs sponsored by SENDAS.

The commencements festivities on November 1 began with the presentation of the national flag of each graduate’s country followed by the processional of official leaders of the church, faculty, and graduates. All joined in singing the Costa Rican national anthem, reading scriptures, and a time of worship and preaching of God’s Word.
Dr. Gunter preached a message of motivation and consecration to everyone present and congratulated graduates as degrees were presented. Both Costa Rican district superintendents, Rev. Mario Vargas of the Costa Rica Central District and Rev. Johnny Calvo of the Costa Rica North District, participated in the ceremony.
A total of 22 students received the Diploma of Christian Ministry, 7 students earned the Bachelor of Theology degree, and 5 students earned the Master of Religion with emphasis in the Mission of the Church.
