Warrick Encourages Godly Pastors’ Home Life

“Marriage and Family” took center focus for the Mexico Pastors' Quadrennial Conference August 9-12, 2006. General Superintendent J. K. Warrick addressed 250 Nazarene pastors and spouses from all 14 districts in Mexico gathered in Oaxtepec, Mexico. Morning devotions and Bible study, workshops, and evening worship all concentrated on strengthening marriage and family relationships among pastors.

Dr. Warrick was joined in the preaching by Dr. Carlos Saenz, regional director for Mexico and Central America. In addition to preaching in both morning and evening sessions, Dr. Warrick also conducted a workshop entitled “The Pastor and Family Life.”

Last spring Dr. Warrick addressed the same topic to all district superintendents and spouses from the Mexico and Central America Region in Guatemala. “These retreats brought a new awareness of the significance of both the pastor and the spouse in ministry,” Dr. Warrick says. “Both are integral in contributing to the home and to ministry in loving compassion. The home is the principal laboratory for living out our faith.”

Altar services brought confession and repentance, with many reporting victories and renewed commitment. Dr. Warrick concludes, “The holy life is true only as it is lived out in the home.”
