As is their annual custom, the Board of General Superintendents, Church of the Nazarene, participated in a meeting December 4-5, 2009, with leaders of other denominations from the Wesleyan-Holiness tradition to explore ways of working together to spread scriptural holiness and the hope found in Jesus Christ.
The meeting, held in Fishers, Indiana, USA, was hosted by the Board of General Superintendents of The Wesleyan Church and held at its world headquarters.
"We are exploring ways to collaborate with like-minded churches for several reasons, including the encouragement we received from the 27th General Assembly in Orlando, Florida, USA, to do so," stated J. K. Warrick, general superintendent and current Board chair.
"Effectively communicating the gospel with a strong emphasis on the holy life and engaging our culture are priorities for those attending the summit," Warrick added.
In addition to The Wesleyan Church and the Church of the Nazarene, other denominations represented include the Church of God Anderson, Evangelical Methodist Church, Church of Christ Holiness USA, Churches of Christ in Christian Union, Missionary Church, The Salvation Army, and The Methodist Protestant Church.
