Exploring the Nazarene Future Together

On behalf of the Board of General Superintendents I welcome you to the official website for the Commission on the Nazarene Future. The commission was appointed by the Board as a result of the 2009 General Assembly adopting resolution SR - 757. The approved resolution is posted on this website for your review.

The focus of the commission is clear. The study group is to carefully examine and make recommendations about Nazarene ecclesiology, polity, missional strategy with a focus on the general superintendency. The commission reports directly to the Board of General Superintendents.

Our Board has appointed David McClung, chairman and Ken Mills, secretary. David Wilson, general secretary, is responsible for administering the commission.

You may participate in this three-year process (2010-2012) by taking time to respond to the survey posted here. Your thoughts are important to the commission.

The Church of the Nazarene has a storied past, a dynamic present and hopeful future. It is our goal to be under the leadership of the Holy Spirit as the church enters its second century of sharing the gospel of Jesus Christ and spreading Scriptural holiness around the world. The commission is one way of helping bring clarity to the mission of making Christlike disciples in the Nations.
