The Word as Our Heritage

February 17
β€œHe did what was right in the eyes of the LORD and walked in all the ways of his father David, not turning aside to the right or to the left.” – 2 Kings 22:2
•    Emphasize connecting with senior adults.
•    Find ways this week to highlight the heritage passed down to us by previous generations.
•    Highlight the contributions made by the senior adults in the church. Invite persons to testify about how a senior adult has impacted them.
•    Find ways to honor the heritage of senior adults who are no longer able to attend church. Organize Sunday School classes to visit shut-ins, those in nursing homes, and elderly people in the neighborhood. Spend time with senior adults. Listen to their stories. Before visiting, remember to call first.
•    Offer to provide weekly meals or transportation to the store or doctor appointments.
•    Invite children to make cards to send to shut-ins and nursing home residents.
•    Organize a team of teenagers to do free yard work for senior adults.
•    During the worship service, have a time of prayer for senior adults, including those physically unable to attend. Thank God for the Christian heritage we have received.
•    Invite senior adults to participate in the worship service.
