If the answer is yes, praise the Lord! Unfortunately, too
many of our churches have become lethargic and inwardly focused. In the
meantime, our world continues to drift and remain spiritually separated from
God.
We need the Lord to transform our people into an
outwardly-focused family, seeking to impact the world with the good news of
Jesus Christ. We need a biblical strategy to guide us in fulfilling the Great
Commission of Matthew 28 and Acts 1. We need to follow the Master Church Builder
of Matthew 16 and abide in The Vine of John 15. We need a new “heartset.”
Leading research by church growth expert Thom Rainer,
involving thousands of churches across the United States and including the most
effective evangelistic churches, reveals that biblical preaching, intentional
prayer ministries, and evangelistically-oriented Sunday Schools are still key
growth methodologies.
We need a church growth strategy that combines these three tools into a
comprehensive plan. We need a new spiritual “heartset” based on scriptural
principles and practical experience in the local church.
