American Bible Society Offering Resources

Second Sunday of December

The American Bible Society (ABS) has demonstrated a long history of making a difference in lives through its mission to share the Word of God with people who need to hear about the Hope of Christ. Your church is invited to join other Churches of the Nazarene in receiving an annual offering for this worthy organization on the second Sunday of December.

Since its inception in 1816, the American Bible Society’s mission has always been to provide the Scriptures to every man, woman, and child in a language and format each can readily understand. In light of everything happening throughout our world these days, what a wonderful time to be partnering with this organization in this worthy goal! Together, we can have an amazing impact on our world through the sharing of the good news of God’s message of love and hope.

Who has benefited from this offering?

•  Thousands in U.S. prisons. The poor in Yugoslavia, Central America, Cuba, Africa, India, Cambodia, Kuwait, China, and America’s inner cities.
•  Children in Haiti, Bolivia, and Lebanon.
•  Flood victims in Mozambique and cyclone victims in Madagascar.

We encourage churches to promote this offering from the pulpit and in church print pieces. Our offerings have averaged more than $40,000 annually during the past few years.

If your church has never participated in this worthy cause, you are encouraged to do so. Thank you in advance for your support of the American Bible Society Offering on the second Sunday of December.

Checks should be sent to the General Treasurer at 17001 Prairie Star Parkway, Lenexa, KS 66220. Please mark it “American Bible Society Offering.”
