This year, as children study Matthew, they will journey with Jesus and learn what it means to "Go and Make Disciples!" Jesus fully revealed God’s incredible love for humankind. Jesus showed us what it means to have the Law of Love written on our hearts. Jesus demonstrated what kind of life God has in mind for every believer– an intimate relationship with God and unconditional love for others!
How to use the theme:• Decorate your classroom, competition rooms, and district quizzes around the theme. Be sure to use visuals from the lessons.
• Encourage children to keep a journal of what they learn and experience as they "Go and Make Disciples."
• Decorate a bulletin board with the title "Go and Make Disciples." Include large photos of children in the class. Emphasize the idea that when we decide to follow Jesus, we are His disciples. Add pictures of others who become disciples as the children share their faith during the year.
• Every week, bring a suitcase (Dr. Digalot's suitcase) to the "Dig Site." Inside the suitcase, have an object that relates to the week's study.
• Be creative! There are many ways to use "Go and Make Disciples," Dr. Digalot, his famous suitcase, and Canteen, the camel, in your 2011-12 quiz year.
