Invitations:
Use computer-generated flyers throughout the church buildings. Also post flyer on the insides of the Women's restroom doors.

Decorations:
 Ask women in the church to bring nativity scenes and display them on tables in the hallway outside the area where dinner will be served.

Women's Ministries may supply the table linens and ask women to decorate a table, using their china or Christmas place settings, a centerpiece, and drip-less candles

Devotional:
Ask the pastor to bring a short devotional and to promote the various Advent services.

Ticket Sale :
Begin selling tickets about a month before the dinner. Have a chart with the tables, number per table, and hostess of the table. As tickets are purchased, determine which table the purchasers wish to be seated.

Menu: 
Consider having a catered meal. This could be through a restaurant or a grocery store.

Mission :
Select an organization to donate funds. Larger churches may wish to assist a pastor in a smaller church in the town or on the district.

How:
Publicize one month ahead in newsletter and bulletin

Registration:
No charge, but it does help to have a sign up sheet to know how many to plan for.

Ideas:
Need local “crafty” person to demonstrate current easy decor ideas to spruce up for the holidays (20-25 min.)

Cookie Exchange:
Each person brings 5 or 6 dozen cookies with copies of recipe and an empty container to fill. Depending on how many ladies attend, each takes an equal number of cookies home in the empty container. Hopefully, she has samples of each kind.

Serve:
Hot cocoa and coffee. This goes well with this informal event and also helps those sampled cookies go down easier.

Devotional:
Have someone local present “Preparing Your Heart for the Holidays” type devotional for about 10 minutes.
