Introduction

Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International and the Women's Ministries General Council strongly endorse and recommend Women Alive! magazine. Though not published by the Church of the Nazarene, each issue is prepared in consultation with Sunday School and Discipleship Ministries International leadership and is edited by Aletha Hinthorn, a member of the Women's Ministries General Council and a member of the Overland Park (Kans.) Church of the Nazarene. Hinthorn is an active leader in women's ministries and consistently lives out the principles behind the magazine.

Women Alive! magazine addresses a wide range of topics that accurately represent the broad spectrum of issues facing today's woman. The magazine addresses these topics in a straightforward manner, offering practical guidance and tools to the reader. Past topics have included:

Editor

Currently, Aletha mentors a young female medical student who leads an inter-denominational Bible study that reaches professional young adults for Jesus. Aletha and her husband, Daniel, Director of Infectious Diseases at the Kansas University Medical Center, involve themselves in the lives of doctors from other countries during advance medical studies. Aletha uses the Bible to teach their wives how to read English. These couples then return to their homelands as Christians as well as trained physicians.

Aletha is also the author of the Bible study series The Satisfied Heart and All for His Glory . These series have been well received by readers and Bible study groups across English-speaking areas. Aletha is currently working on a third series. She also teaches a weekly Bible study for young women in their home using books she has written. Besides mentoring individuals and leading small groups, Aletha speaks at women's retreats and functions.
