What is Nazarene Fellowship of Single Adults?

Perhaps you are saying to yourself, “I’ve never heard of the Nazarene Fellowship of Single Adults (NFSA).”  You‘ve good reason to say that.

In the past regional retreats called SoloCons were held across North America.  SoloCons were a part of the Church of the Nazarene’s ministry with single adults.  However, with changes in single adult demographics the need was recognized to redesign the ministry.

The purpose of NFSA is to help organize, develop, and grow ministries to and by single adults in every level of the denomination. An integral part of this purpose is the continual education of the church regarding the benefits of involving single adults in all ministry aspects.

In many Churches of the Nazarene, single adults fill important leadership and ministry roles. Some single adults are involved in the music ministry; others teach a Sunday School class and lead small groups; and some hold elected offices in the church. An increasing number of single adults serve on the pastoral staff, with several serving as senior pastors. The keynote speaker at a single adult retreat asked those involved in ministry to stand. Between one-third and one-half of the attendees stood.

Our mission is to prepare, challenge, and inspire single adults to a life of Christian discipleship.  NFSA’s desire and intention is that every single adult become a fulfilled disciple of Jesus Christ, and that each person will have a passion for Christian service whether it is across the street or around the globe.

So how does NFSA hope to reach this goal?  We want to create networking with local and district leaders involved with single adult ministry.  Using regional events such as leadership development, missions trips, and retreats we can inspire single adults to grow in faith and ministry.

Single or married persons can all contribute to the goal of the Nazarene Fellowship of Single Adults. Visit us on FaceBook and to visit AMC for information about NFSA.  We also  encourage you to become a part of this ministry.
