Kenneth and Tonya Kucey

Serving in Haiti | MesoAmerica

Darin and Tonya Kucey served as Mission Corps missionaries on the Mesoamerica Region from February 2012 to June 2013 working in the Regional Communications Ministry with primary focus on the development and oversight of an English Regional website and Newsletter as well as translation from Spanish to English for various forms of media. While the Kuceys enjoyed their time in Costa Rica they are grateful for the opportunity to transition their ministry to Haiti now serving on Special Assignment as Work and Witness Coordinators.

Tonya is an ordained elder in the Church of the Nazarene serving as Pastor on the Canada Atlantic District for 8 years. In addition to her pastoral role she also served on the Canada Atlantic District NMI Council as Call Coordinator for several years. From 2007-2012 she also served as the Canada Rep. for Global NMI. During this same time period she was able to act as both a Team Coordinator and Field Coordinator for several Work and Witness teams.

Darin has been involved in the IT industry for over 20 years in various capacities including, program development, consulting, teaching, project management, hardware and software development as well as business owner. In addition to his IT work Darin served on the Canada Atlantic District Sunday Discipleship Ministries International Council and District Men’s Ministries.

Darin and Tonya have three children, Ryan (20), Cory (17) and Karissa (13). Ryan recently completed his third year of his Business Degree at Saint Mary’s University in Halifax, NS. Both Cory and Karissa are in an American school in Haiti in grades 11 and 8 respectively.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet

Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
