Robert and Colleen Skinner
Serving in Central Europe as Global Deployment | Eurasia
Bob and Colleen Skinner both graduated from Nazarene Theological Seminary and have been global missionaries with the Church of the Nazarene since 1990. They were first assigned to the Philippines, which had been home for Colleen, who grew up there with Nazarene missionary parents, Dr. Ron and Neva Beech. Bob and Colleen arrived in the Philippines with their 4-month-old son, Robby, and began their assignment in local church development. Three years later their second son, Michael, was born in Manila.
In 1995 the Skinners were transferred to Kiev, Ukraine to participate in the work of Church planting not long after the fall of Communism. The Lord opened many doors for the Gospel. Along with the start and development of new churches, other ministries began to take root as well, such as: Bible College extension training for leaders and pastors, summer and winter camps for children and youth, kids clubs, Ukrainian Nazarene Medical Missions, drug and alcohol rehabilitation centers for both men and women, HIV/Aides ministries, Drug/Alcohol prevention in high schools and colleges, children’s homes for abandoned kids, and ministry with children suffering from handicaps. While serving in Ukraine, Bob and Colleen were blessed with a third son, Joshua.
In 2012, Budapest, Hungary became their new home and place of service. Three years later, Bob and Colleen moved to Poland to continue the ministry of church planting and development. As an avenue for church planting, the Church of the Nazarene has opened two coffee house ministries – places where people can gather not only for weekly worship services and Bible studies, but also as an outreach into the community. The Lord is opening up new opportunities for the Gospel through Upward Basketball, English classes in schools and universities, and ministry among refugees. God is at work in Poland. We want to be in step with His Spirit!
The Skinners’ three sons are all studying in America now. Robby graduated from Northwest Nazarene University and has been serving at Seattle First Church of the Nazarene while attending Fuller Northwest Theological Seminary. Michael and his wife, Hillary, both graduated from Olivet Nazarene University and are now in Kansas City. Michael is attending Nazarene Theological Seminary while serving at the Shawnee Church of the Nazarene, and Hillary is teaching at a Montessori school. Joshua is a sophomore at Olivet Nazarene University.

Going Where the Church is Not Yet
Today there are over 4.3 billion people who live in areas where there is little to no gospel witness. 4.3 billion people who have not heard the message of the gospel, who have never heard the name of Jesus. We believe that everyone deserves to hear. God continues to call the Church of the Nazarene to spread the message of the gospel, to preach holiness, and to bring good news to the poor all over the world. The task is enormous; far too big for anyone to do alone, but together we can go where the church is not yet and see people, communities, and nations transformed. Reaching these people begins with one step, a step of obedience and faithfulness that says yes to God’s call. Take your first step and start your journey toward serving in missions today.
