International Board of Education

The International Board of Education (IBOE) is comprised of twelve people representing the global Church of the Nazarene. The IBOE functions as the global church advocate for education institutions for the Church of the Nazarene worldwide.

From the very beginning of the Church of the Nazarene education has been one of our very core commitments, and our IBOE schools remain one of the great treasures God has given us in advancement of His mission in our world. The Church of the Nazarene enjoys the blessing of a dynamic network of 53 colleges, universities and seminaries in 35 countries, on six continents. Through this global network nearly 50,000 students choose to be educated annually in preparation to serve as pastors, teachers, scientists, artists, medical professionals, and in a wide array of other careers. Most importantly, students are being formed and trained as followers of Jesus and leaders who live and serve from a Christian worldview. The IBOE schools serve as vibrant partners in the mission of the Church of the Nazarene “to make Christ-like disciples in the nations.”

Choosing where to engage in education for life and service is one of the most important discipleship decisions a person will make. Regardless of the level of the degree, from diploma to PhD, it is a significant season in the development and spiritual formation for the student. If you are a potential student considering where you might attend school, I commend to you our Nazarene schools as a valuable choice for your education and continued discipleship. If you are a parent, pastor, teacher or friend offering counsel to a student considering where to go to school, I encourage you to recommend they consider our Nazarene schools where students are intentionally nurtured as disciples of Jesus to engage in the mission “to make Christ-like disciples in the nations.”
