In Memoriam: 2 February 2018

The following is a weekly listing of Nazarene ministers and leaders who recently went home to be with the Lord. Notices were received 29 January - 2 February 2018.

Jeannette Cantrell, 78, of Oklahoma City, Oklahoma, passed away 20 January. She was the wife of retired minister Wallace Cantrell, who served in Texas. 

Donna Coonrod, 88, of Vancouver, Washington, passed away 15 January. She was the widow of retired minister and evangelist Donald Coonrod, who served in Washington. Donald Coonrod passed away in 2011.

Anna Dawson, 103, of Little Rock, Arkansas, passed away 12 January. She was the widow of retired minister Clyde Dawson, who served in Nebraska, Oklahoma, Indiana, Colorado, Ohio, and Texas. He passed away in 2005. Anna Dawson was also preceded in death by her first husband, Virvan Silvers, in 1988.

J. Roy Fuller, 80, of Prattville, Alabama, passed away 30 January. He was a retired minister, missionary, and district superintendent, who served in Florida and Alabama and led the Pittsburgh, Alabama South, and Canada Quebec districts. He was preceded in death by his wife, Nina Fuller, in 2016. 

J. L. "Jerry" Garmon, 82, of Marshalltown, Iowa, passed away 28 January. He was a retired minister, who served in Illinois and Iowa. He was preceded in death by his wife, Ruth (Anderson) Garmon, in 2011.

Sybil Harris, 89, of York, Nebraska, passed away 26 January. She was a chaplain, serving in Nebraska.

Robert Hoppe, 79, of Sapulpa, Oklahoma, passed away 29 January. He was a retired minister, who served in New York and Oklahoma. He is survived by his wife, Pamela Hoppe.

Winston Lowe, 94, of Many, Louisiana, passed away 28 January. He was a retired minister and evangelist, who served in Louisiana and Pennsylvania. He is survived by his wife, Eva Lowe.

Elsie Soto, 83, of Yuma, Arizona, passed away 23 January. She is survived by her husband, retired minister Paul Soto, who served in California and Oklahoma. 

Alice Jean "A. J." Wetmore, 86, of Olathe, Kansas, passed away 29 January. She was preceded in death by her husband, retired minister and educator Gordon Wetmore Jr., who served in Wisconsin, Massachusetts, Ohio, Missouri, Idaho (president of what is now Northwest Nazarene University), and Missouri (president of Nazarene Theological Seminary). He passed away in 2016.

Maxine Whitley, 92, of Malvern, Arkansas, passed away 30 January. She was preceded in death by her first husband, ordained elder James Emory, who passed away in 1972. She was preceded in death by her second husband, Weldon Stone, in 1987, and third husband, Echols Whitley, in 2012.
